BRANDING: Non-Profit Rebranding

Life Remodeled is a non-profit organization located in  Detroit, MI. Their focus is on specific communities and the people who currently live there, enabling them to grow and overcome neighborhood challenges and needs.






Ford sponsored this class within my college where groups could spend the whole semester creating a potential branding for Life Remodeled. This allowed for us to experience what it would be like to work with a client to come up with a branding solution.

With this branding, we were broken up into teams of four people. As a team, we worked together to research, explore, develop, and create concise final solutions.




The solutions shown below are what we created for Life Remodeled, along with possible future solutions and projects that could be incorporated.

PROCESS

︎︎︎ Research:



The project started with weeks of research on Detroit, and learning from the environment before creating well thought out design solutions. Each team was in charge of a specific type of research, and my group focused on the current visible of Life Remodeled.

To begin, we had to showcase what a strong brand identity looks like, so we chose two that we believed to showcase that. First we wanted to present a local company, and chose Detroit Institute of Bagels. The second was the city branding of Eindhoven. After showing what successful branding looks like, we dove into their current system and showed what was working, and what was not working.



︎︎︎ Exploration:

Within this phase, we explored what Life Remodeled should focus on, and how they can become better connected within the community. This includes a goal, difaferentials, key words, promises and essences, etc. 

   


The main goal was to show that Life Remodeled could be comforting, yet professional; a visual people can relate to and remember, and to be visually impactful. This section showed what the visual assets could look like, based on brand inspiration.

This section shows a rough final of our branding, along with refined promises and language. Within this phase we showcased what the brand could be, and how it can be used not only digitally, but environmentally. 



Our final solution for Life Remodeled was a well thought out, playful, yet keeping a professional view. It focuses on community helping. which reflects in the icons and glyphs created specifically for this project. To view the final solutions, scroll to top of page.
